Fallout 3 already a cult classic
Ok you have already guessed that I am a fan of the Fallout series. Fallout 3 has been in preparation for four years now and it was initially unknown whether it would be made at all. Finally it is with us, this time with different style gameplay from numbers 1 and 2.
But don’t be fooled, the new game is working as a first person shooter, but you still get all the elements expected from the Fallout franchise. In other words clever dialogues, lots of weird guns, the ability to be a good or bad guy…
In the online reviews I have read, virtually every player has succumbed to the beautiful detailed graphics that create an awesome post-apocalyptic city to play in. Of course there have been criticisms of character movement or minor bugs, but none of these detract from the overall excitement.
Some players have complained that Fallout 3 is not in the same style as the older games and should not belong in the series. On this I have to remind everybody that many years have passed since Fallout 2 and graphics have moved on. Fallout 3 goes to great lengths to create the right atmosphere and in my opinion does a great job.
Actually having midnight releases is a surprise for me, as I always regarded Fallout more like an underground game. This time around it moves up to the league of Half Life 2 and it remains to be seen whether we will have episodes following. What is certain is that Bethesda has done a very clever move to get to develop Fallout 3 and it will be from now on closely watched by loads of anticipating fans…
