Canon 7D, Nikon D90: The Photokina rumour machine is now really on

It’s actually surprising that Nikon went ahead with its impressive full-frame D700 release before Photokina, while Canon was under pressure to quickly come up with a cheap entry DSLR in the name of the 1000D. This means that Photokina 2008 will have more goodies in store. The Canon 7D and Nikon D90 are already two rumour favourites. Since the Canon 5D is already plain old for DSLR standards, the 7D -or whatever it will be called- will be a no-surprise much awaited model, while the D90 will possibly be Nikon’s route to stay competitive with a replacement of the successful D80.
There is one certainty however. This August will be full of rumours, some of them true, some of them unreasonable. If you are really interested in a new or replacement DSLR, it would be probably sensible to skip all this and deal with your problem on the 23rd of September when Photokina starts and all this gossip has ended… Of course ElectronRun cannot stay out of it, out of sheer interest! But you know what? August and September are great months for photo shooting. The weather is nice and most of us have the luxury for a holiday to visit new places. So don’t forget that photography is about getting out to shoot photos and improving our technique. No matter what model camera we have it is up to us to take good photos…
