Pillows and water the weapons of choice in Facebook arranged fights

It all looks like great fun and I am sure it is superb stress relief. And it only costs some feathers! I am talking about massive pillow and water fights arranged via Facebook and the Internet in general. But unfortunately such events can cause considerable damage -see thousands of euros- like in the case of the Millennium Square Garden in Yorkshire, UK after the water fight of the 1st of May holiday.
Inhabitants near parks and areas where such events take place are informing the police on upcoming fights, the police in turn seeks the organisers and issues warnings that special permissions are required. The fact is that it is so easy to have massive social network contact lists and effectively mobilise large groups, that it is practically impossible to track down every planned event. And in many cases a small group pillow or water fight can quickly spill over to groups of hundreds of people…
Funny enough, the police can respond with more water, creating in turn super mega water-pillow or water-water fights! But what could make adults go out in the streets and act like children? I do not know… Let me think a little… Maybe all those surveillance cameras that make most of us angry but powerless to do anything in response, all in the name of public security? Whatever the cause, pillow fights are here to stay. To get a taste, watch the YouTube video below from Oldenburg, Germany.
