Photographers to protest for unreasonable treatment
On the 1st of June photographers will peacefully protest in LA for unreasonable treatment by LAPD and LASD while taking photos in the metro and public places.
I applaud this move and I think there should be similar action in every country because there is cases of police harassing photographers for non-existent reasons in many countries and places.
Phone cameras may have become in many cases a nuisance, but people taking photos in the street is a harmless activity. After all if harm is the intention, why not completely ban Google Maps and similar applications?
I have personally experienced security warden warnings to not further use my camera when taking pictures of family and friends in a commercial center and find the whole thing completely idiotic. It gives police and security officers a nice pastime but adds absolutely nothing to safety.
