IMAX Theaters go digital

I remember my first IMAX experience in Munich, Germany in 1995. Man it was awesome, huge screen and a sound system to die for… Thankfully, the magic is not going to disappear in analogue oblivion, as there is now concrete plans to move the IMAX experience to a 100% digital domain.

Nikon D300 review round-up

The Nikon D300 DSLR is D200’s replacement and currently the second most advanced Nikon after the full-frame D3. In non-full frame DSLRs it represents the current state of the art and is the best example of Nikon’s comeback after a very long and difficult period. For this reason, I have included after the break some [...]

GE manages to create printed OLEDs, new horizons for efficient lighting

In a similar manner that we can now print solar cells or 3D models, GE has created a printing method to produce OLED lights. 6 reasons Pentax cancels its 645 digital medium format camera

Medium format cameras are the ultimate in resolution and quality. Right? Yes, but Pentax does not seem to be so enthousiastic about this format any more, as it has decided to finally not release its digital 645, a model announced and presented in shows more than a year ago. Here is some possible reasons behind [...]

Olympus E-420 world’s smallest DSLR

Olympus decided it was time to replace its entry E-410 DSLR with an update unsurprisingly called E-420. Specifications are not changing by much, but still there is interesting features, attractive to the photography enthusiast:

Smallest DSLR in the world. Although smaller to the E-410 by very little, the E-420 is a beautiful combination of DSLR functionality [...]

Paper not so necessary for business any more?

I started writing this post because of two events:

My time in the Euroshop 2008 show, that I document in photos in part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4.

After the Euroshop 2008 show, I came across a very interesting article in ReadWriteWeb that more or less argues that paper is not necessary any more.

So [...]

We have happily arrived to the fourth and last part of the Euroshop 2008 photo report. The show only takes place once every three years, I suppose once every two years would be much better. In this second part of ElectronRun’s Euroshop 2008 photo report we continue with more eye feasting…
Throughout the show, in virtually all halls, I could not believe how many screens were everywhere! Since flat screens became commonplace, designers use them in mass, in very creative ways. The idea here is not to show off resolution, black [...]

Euroshop 2008, 23-27 February, Dusseldorf, Germany - Photo report- Part 1

This year I was one of the lucky exhibitors in Euroshop 2008, Dusseldorf, Germany. I participated throughout the show’s duration as well as in the preparatory stage. Thus, this 4 part photo series! I am lucky that my wife was also present and patient enough to take the largest part of those photos.
For those that [...]
