Phase One and Mamiya develop new 645/645AFDIII medium format camera

Very few people will manage to get their hands on the new camera co-developed by Phase One and Mamiya. It is called the 645 by Phase One, or the 645AFDIII by Mamiya and is hailed as the most flexible medium format system in the world (great moto). Components are the usual body, backs (digital or film), lenses and software.Phase One’s capture and workflow software is widely recognised as one of the best for professional use and the combination with Mamiya’s hardware expertise probably makes sense. Pricing is not known at the moment and will be released with technical spec at a later date. Expect it to be strictly for rich professionals and enough to make those complaining about full-frame DSLRs to shut up. Pentax’s effort in the medium format segment did not eventually materialise, let’s see how far we will get with Phase One and Mamiya.
