Euroshop 2008, 23-27 February, Dusseldorf, Germany - Photo report- Part 1

This year I was one of the lucky exhibitors in Euroshop 2008, Dusseldorf, Germany. I participated throughout the show’s duration as well as in the preparatory stage. Thus, this 4 part photo series! I am lucky that my wife was also present and patient enough to take the largest part of those photos.

For those that are not aware of the particular show, it is the world’s largest exhibition for stores, shopfitting and store equipment in general. Numbers are very impressive: 1600 exhibitors from 50 countries, 15 huge halls with an area of 200,000 square meters and about 100,000 visitors from every corner of the earth.

Walking from one end to the other took about 10 minutes -without walking inside the buildings!- and going through even half of the exhibits is quite an achievement. Modern technology and computers are present everywhere, from design to final presentation. So let’s get on with the photos!

The view during preparations is quite discouraging. One wonders whether the show will be able to start on time:

Floor what floor? Nothing is ready yet:
A whole army of trucks occupied all spaces available between halls. The building on the right gives you an idea of hall size. A whole army of forklift trucks was available for all unloading to be taken care of:
The end result was more than impressive! Amazing stuff!

It’s the kind of creativity expected from high end shops. In fact, this was a high end exhibit:
Environmentally friendly materials were present in many stands. How about some models from recycled paper or wood?
This was the most humongous stand I have ever seen in my life. Everyone that saw it, initially thought that it was many exhibitors and the wow factor kicked in when they realised that they were walking for some time along the same stand! At the far back there is a massive platform complete with cafeteria. The back wall was so long and tall it reminded me of a fortress:

More photos in part 2. Stay tuned!
